Paralectotypes: NMW 47258 (2), 46775-77 (2, 1, 2); ZMA 110477-78 (1, 1). Type catalog: Nijssen et al. 1982:46 [ref. 19236]. Species not included in earlier abstract [ref. 20480]. Originally described as "Corydoras marmoratus n. sp.? (an. Coryd. punctatus sp. Bloch, var. argentina Steind.)."; may correspond to Corydoras maculatus of abstract. Lectotype designated by Nijssen & Isbrücker 1980:204 [ref. 6910]. Synonym of Corydoras paleatus (Jenyns 1842) -- (Nijssen & Isbrücker 1980:204 [ref. 6910], Reis in Reis et al. 2003:301 [ref. 27061]). •Status uncertain -- (Isbrücker 2001:229 [ref. 26805]).
